Friday the 13th started off with an indexing issue for new content - likely that included news sites since their whole business is new content. I’ll share what I’ve seen.
Google says they only post things on here is they become larger problems across the system. [Incident report.]
This may have been experienced for more than the reported almost 6 hours. The evidence suggests this was happening in advance of the announcement on Search Status Dashboard.
