October 14 - Indexation System Report - Indexing API requests are futile

Welcome to the Crawl or No Crawl for today.

Grim news for anyone who is or has been relying on Google’s indexing API to get their content or backlinks to their content crawled and indexed.

Why 3rd Party Indexers Can’t Confirm This

Below is a screenshot from the API dashboard in a Cloud Service account.

This is what it looks like to them - a system that appears to be functioning.

In fact, some 3rd party indexers may still have working cloud service accounts that remain connected just because Google hasn’t reached their spot on the list of disconnected their API from the crawling system. But odds are their days of remaining connected are numbered.

They also can’t confirm this because they do not have access to the server logs for the sites whose URLs you are submitting.

Server Logs Tell The Story

Its not that people are lying to you, its that this tidbit of information is NOT commonplace. Because only here in Crawl or No Crawl is there data that has confirmed API behavior since early 2022.

The project will continue to monitor this situation.

And later this month, I will be opening up more testing seats in IndexZilla™.
