Welcome to Crawl or No Crawl Report today.

I come with news - good and bad.

Bad news first

3rd party Indexing services seem to be “dead in the water” at least for now. I began to test Google’s Indexing API unofficially this week. The API documentation was updated middle of September.

All submissions through the Indexing API undergo rigorous spam detection. Any attempts to abuse the Indexing API, including the use of multiple accounts or other means to exceed usage quotas, may result in access being revoked. Learn more about our spam policies.

Typically in server logs the bot appearance was immediate, providing an HTML crawl.

So far…

Good news

My indexing service that is being built on the past 3 years of research is still working because its not based on the Indexing API. And it will offer more than 200 URLs per day. I guess that was even “gooder” news.

When

Things are moving. There are multiple stages of testing going on and with all the Google changes over the past couple of weeks some activities have been interrupted.

Rest assured that if you are reading this what that means is YOU will get first access to the indexer to try it out and help ensure the software is working.
