Welcome to Crawl or No Crawl report for January 18th.

We’ve been hearing a LOT lately from Google about Javascript.

This week the tools that SEOs rely on got a rude awakening this week.

Google “updated their search box to require all users, including bots, to have JavaScript turned on when searching.” Source

What I’m learning with the Googlebot Chrome updates indicates none of this is unrelated to the other.

I’m providing a simplistic description of what is going on under the hood regarding what Google is doing differently when it comes to crawling, indexing and serving (or not serving) our content.

I will explain as briefly as I can - just enough so you know what is different now while enough so that you know what you might have to pay attention to - a Goldilocks approach!
